Project Background
The proven lead-zinc reserves in a high-altitude mining area in the Andes Mountains of Peru exceed 8 million tons, with an average lead grade of 4.2%, a zinc grade of 6.5%, and associated silver metal. The original crushing production line equipment in the area is aging, the particle size of the output is uneven (often >30mm), and the mineral processing recovery rate is less than 70%. In 2022, ZOOMJO GROUP customized an efficient "three-stage crushing-intelligent screening" solution for it, using high-altitude adaptable equipment configuration to successfully solve production problems in extreme environments such as low oxygen and large temperature differences.
Process flow
Coarse crushing: The raw ore is evenly fed into the jaw crusher through the plate feeder and crushed to ≤180mm.
Medium crushing: The coarse crushed product enters the cone crusher for secondary crushing, and the discharge particle size is ≤50mm.
Grinding: The ball mill and the classifier operate in a closed circuit to grind the ore to less than 0.074mm (-200 mesh accounts for 60%-80%), releasing the lead and zinc mineral monomers for dissociation.
Lead flotation: Inhibitors (such as zinc sulfate and sodium cyanide) are used to inhibit zinc minerals, and collectors (xanthate) are used to float galena to produce lead concentrate.
Zinc flotation: Activate the suppressed sphalerite (copper sulfate activation), and float the collector to produce zinc concentrate.
Concentrate dehydration: Concentrator + filter, the moisture content is reduced to ≤12%.
Tailing treatment: dry stacking or backfilling of tailings pond, and recycling of wastewater.
On-the-spot Live Action
Response to extreme environments: The equipment motor adopts a plateau-specific model (insulation grade H), and the hydraulic system is equipped with a low-temperature starting device to ensure continuous operation under a temperature difference of -15℃ to 40℃.
Intelligent control: ZOOMJO GROUP central control system monitors the crusher bearing temperature, vibration value and screening efficiency in real time, automatically alarms for abnormal data and adjusts the feeding speed.
Environmentally friendly design: full-process closed conveying + pulse dust removal system, dust emission <10mg/m³, in line with EU CE standards.
Customer Comments
"ZOOMJO GROUP took only 4 months from equipment selection to installation and commissioning. After the production line was put into operation, the production capacity was stabilized at 240T/H, and the uniformity of discharge was far beyond expectations. Under the harsh conditions of 4,000 meters above sea level and 30℃ temperature difference between day and night, the equipment has been running continuously for 18 months without failure, and the spare parts loss rate has been reduced by 60%. What's more surprising is that the optimization of the ore particle size after fine crushing has increased the subsequent flotation silver recovery rate by 12%, and the annual benefit has exceeded 5 million US dollars!"
